1. You can get some string and get everyone to guess how much string is needed to go round your middle
2, you coulg get some clothes, and again some string and a baby doll, and have a race to see who can nurse the baby and hang the washing on the line the quickest

3. Do a celebrity baby names guessing sheet eg name Julia roberts twins etc

4. Get some tins of baby food, cover the labels, ane get your guests to guess the flavour( make sure you have lots of spoons so you don’t spread germs)

5. Get some plain bibs or washers or even some plain material and some fabric paint and get your guests to decorate one in a baby theme. I did this for my 1st babies shower and had all of these great fabric squres decorated by every guest. I then had a friend sew them all together as a wall hanging for the nursery. It was really lovely and something we still have

Food.. You could have a sandwich station. Cold cuts and different cheese and bread cut up small so people could make there own sandwiches. It is simple but you can make it look really nice! Also works for different types of guest. Because if you just want to nibble on something you can just eat a piece of ham or cheese.. But for those hungrier bunch they can make the whole sand which.
Also vegetables with dips. Baby carrots and green peppers cut up long and thin.. Stuff like that.

Games that are cheap

1.You can ask some of your guest to bring in baby picks of themselves and have people guess who is who.
2.Get toilet paper or string and people have to cut it off at however big enough a piece they think they need to wrap around your belly.. The one close enough wins.
3. You would have to buy this but I don’t think it cost too much.. You get about 5 different gerber baby foods and people have to guess what the flavor is. You just need to get one of each and split it up in different cups for different contestants. Obviously mark before hand which is which.

Just google “baby shower planning” and “baby shower games”. Even though the games are not sophisticated, most people prefer baby showers with games than ones where everyone sits around and looks sophisticated for 2 or 3 hours while the mom opens presents.

If it’s a shower w/ men and women google “couples shower” and you’ll find lots of ideas.

Try to pick a theme as it will make the final result look better and it’ll be easier for you to make choices about what to do/decorate with/serve to eat. Maybe base it on the nursery decor that mom & dad are putting together. Once you have a theme, search google images to see what other people have done. E.g. “ladybug theme”, “pink and black shower.”

I take it you are throwing the shower for yourself?

If you are basically throwing yourself a “baby is coming” party and not really considering is a “shower” with the games, favors and such… Then I guess you don’t really need to be concerned with the favors.

I’ve always been able to make favors spending much less than I would if I bought them at a store or online.

For a baby shower, I am dipping pretzel rods in light blue chocolate, decorating with white candy dots. I’m “wrapping” them in a clear cellophane bag and tying with a tag I created with card stock and “baby” themed stamps. All of these items can be purchases at a craft store (except pretzel rods). I’ve spent a total of around $30 for 100 favors.

I purchase paper from paper-source.com. It’s the nicest and cheapest paper. I get business cards for the favor tags.

My daughter just gave a shower for my Great-grand son to be. One of the things she had was “schrunged ” up paper she used for name tags. Maybe you could use this as an idea, but wait, the paper represented a diaper and inside of a couple of them they had some dirty markings on it to repersent poop Whoever had the poopy diaper got a door prise. You could put something like this on the baby bottles or do what she did. Congratulations hope youhave a very healthy baby.

I just received an invite with an extra little card that reads “Although cards are nice, They’re read once or twice A book is a treasure Forever and ever. So instead of a card please give the babies a book with your name inside.
I thought it a very cute idea.
This particular shower is being given by a sister whos sister is having triplets!

Although… To me three weeks is a while sounds to me like you still have plenty of time… However if you’re anxious just ask your friend to follow up with those who havent responded yet… I would give it at least another week though before you start asking people whether they’re planning on coming or not.

Honestly, if i were you i would make them myself. I made the invites, thank you cards and announcements for my baby shower, and for one that i threw for a friend. It’s fun b/c it’s very personal, and i did mine w/ all my cousins, so it was a nice time to hang out w/ one another before the baby came. And it doesn’t cost as much!! Good luck!

I would say no later than 2 weeks in advance, but not before 3 weeks. You have to give at least 2 weeks because most jobs require 2 weeks notice if you are requesting a day off. No more than 3 weeks because like yousaid, people will forget. Tell them on the invite that is mandatory or neccessary that if they are not going to come to rsvp with their answer so as you do not plan for more people. When they call youcan simply inquire as to why they arenot going and see if you can change their minds LOL Anyway, good luck!
